Moong mogar is green moong that has been split and had its skin removed, which leaves the small yellow dal inside. In Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh it is called mogar, and elsewhere it is known as yellow or dhuli moong dal.
Ours comes from the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh, grown on farms that do not use chemical pesticides or insecticides. We sun dry it, sort it by hand and pack it in small batches.
Moong mogar cooks faster than any other dal and does not need long soaking.
